(It probably uses internal USB anyway, though). That poster asks what features they lose by disabling the Logitech service. The answer is the "effects" mode on the camera - "avatars" that attempt motion tracking based on the real image on the camera, various overlays/filters, etc. Clearly this is an earth-shattering loss ;-) Somebody affected by this problem should NOT rename the executable at fault. Rather, they should use the services snap-in (start->run, services.msc) to turn off the Logitech Camera Monitor service. Stop it, then set it to "Manual" to prevent its automatic launch on future boots. -- Craig Ringer |
