The problem is not that easy, gears programm is a *very* simple one, and I've
seen this kind of programm running above 7000 fps on less powerfull graphic
chip. Anyway, I did what you suggested (think you talked about the GL_RENDERER
string, didn't you ?) and got an outpout "MOBILITY RADEON 9600 bla bla bla"...
Therefore, you should be right. Maybe the "low performance" is due to my use
of SDL trough Ada...
