Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=2680120 By: jamesgregory I have written a game. The version compiled in Linux with gcc: Runs fine. The version compiled in Windows with mingw and then run through gdb (even if it has been compiled with no debugging information): Runs fine. The version compiled in Windows with mingw and then run normally: If you setup up a new battle, set the battle into action and then press F11 to restart from the beginning again, the code which puts all the spaceships in their starting positions breaks somehow and some ships get put in illegal starting places and an exception (saying "ships in illegal starting positions") is thrown. I have quite an old version of GCC (maybe a year old? I would give the exact version number but I'm totally fed up of repeatedly rebooting into Windows and about to go to bed), so maybe it's a bug in GCC which has been fixed by now and I can fix it just by installing the latest version of mingw. However, given my computer's current situation (dial-up connection in Linux, Windows hard drive currently refusing to connect to the internet at all), I thought I'd post this here in the hope someone might be able to give me some sort of clue before I spend half a day faffing in Windows only to find the problem remains in any case. The game is GPL, you can find Linux and Windows binaries as well as the source at: http://galaxyhack.sourceforge.net/download.php but be warned that it is about 12,500 lines of code. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
