The carriage-return & linefeed characters seem to have been sent to file as escape sequences. Line seperator bytes are {1B,5B,30,6D,1B,5B,30,6D} I thought the only difference between unix and windows text file was the 'carriage-return' byte - whats with all these crazy escape sequences?
