"include/wx/chkconf.h" checks wx configuration settings for consistency.
Perhaps the library wasn't built with optional features you need.

I didn't know anyone distributed wx binaries. I always build the library
myself from the makefiles. The instructions are quite good and it builds
quickly. The best place to get advice is the wx-users mailing list.
