thanks... unfortunately, i've already checked that out.

i didn't manage to find any relevant messages of the
same thread.

prior to that message you highlighted, i recall a number
of lengthy discussions on that issue on the mingw
mailing list (it wasn't discussed that much on the cygwin
mailing list if i'm not mistaken).

i'm actually trying to help up this guy who will be enhancing
dxe2 library for djgpp. (dxe2 is something like a dll
mechanism thingy). he's fixing it for djgpp port of mesa.

i'm looking up the issue to see if it's relevant to the
implementation of dxe2.
