I downloaded libiconv version 1.8 from GNU's site and compiled it with NO problems what so ever. I checked it was installed, and saw that the libiconv-2.dll and libcharset-1.dll DLL's had been installed successfully under /usr/local/lib. In addition to this the include files (iconv.h and libcharset.h) are installed ok under /usr/local/include AND the iconv.exe is installed under /usr/local/bin. When I go to run ./configure for GLib, it fails with the following error: . . . checking for iconv_open... no checking for libiconv_open in -liconv... no checking for iconv_open in -liconv... no configure: error: *** No iconv() implementation found in C library or libiconv Is it because the DLL name is not what is expected? Anyone else been in this scenario? Regards, Martyn |
