Absolutely. Furthermore, gcc is, IMHO, one the the best compilers for learning C++ and C (I don't know about the supported languages). On the Win32 arena only Comeau is better, but it is not free (in any sense) and is poorly supported by library providers. > Do we need a separate list? Newbies asking basic things and veterans discussing about advanced issues.
