Category: ld Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Roberto FERNANDEZ (dxsmopuim) Assigned to: Danny Smith (dannysmith) Summary: ldscript template uses bash dialect. Initial Comment: in binutils-2.16.91-20060119-1-src ld/scripttempl/pe.sc uses bash specific substitutions. And makefiles use /bin/sh to parse it. this results in empty ldscripts when building binutils on STANDARD SYSTEMS where /bin/sh is not linked to bash. there are two possible workarounds to this bug: 1) ugly: modify makefiles to use /bin/bash or (/usr/bin/bash or /usr/local/bin/bash or whatever could be the location of bash) 2)nice: use strict sh substitutions. attached: -the patch to unbashify ld/scripttempl/pe.sc -the resulting template for ld/scripttempl/pe.sc Roberto. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Danny Smith (dannysmith) Date: 2007-06-26 11:31 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=11494 Originator: NO This a generic binutils issue, not mingw-specific.
