of MSYS on Windows XP Professional x64 by running it 
in 32-bit compatibility mode.

Try this one.
The modified patch didn't work.
I suspect "start" starts programs outside WoW64,
but I don't see any easy way to test that.

It now applies cleanly, but unfortunately it trashes the
window settings established by my startup shortcut on Win2K.

Please test my attached modification, which works fine for
me, but I am unable to test on X64.  Maybe it also needs a
`/min' in the start command, as in the command.com case.

I've also fixed an unrelated typo, in the `startsh' code.

I'd like to apply this patch, but unfortunately it doesn't
match the current CVS image of msys.bat.

Please regenerate, based on the HEAD version at
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/mingw/msys/dvlpr/bin/msys.bat

Patches should be in `diff -u' format, with at least 3 lines
of context.

You should also provide a ChangeLog entry, and note that I
will not accept patches from any user who is not prepared to
identify themselves properly -- `nonperson' is not an
acceptable identification.
