True. I just fixed the 'symptoms' not the underlying cause. Also, like I 
said, I'm working on Win2k (sp4) and not XP.

Here's what I replied to Ramon:

You need to use EDITBIN which comes with visual studio. If you don't have 
a copy of VS already you can get a 'free' copy here 
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/visualc/ . This comes with 
EDITBIN.

Here's the invocation I used: editbin /rebase=0x20000000 msys-1.0.dll
