I am currently trying to build cross-binutils, in preparation for building cross-gcc. I have already built a cygwin to h8300-hms cross-compiler, but would like to remove the dependency on cygwin1.dll. I order to create a viable build environment, I have layered mingw on top of cygwin: 1) Install both mingw and cygwin sepeartely. 2) Set PATH to mingw-dir/bin;cygwin-dir/bin;rest-of-normal-path 3) Create a fake uname.exe and put in mingw-dir/bin, to mask the cygwin uname, which will otherwise make configure think host=cygwin. Now, simply run bash under command.com, and begin ... now the problems start: I tried to configure to a prefix of c:\\lego-ms, but this seems to be reinterpreted multiple times, eventually leading to the build failing due to a path like c:lego-ms Please, can anyone suggest a way of preventing backslash loss! Thanks, Max. |
