I need to install MinGW behind a proxy. Couldn't find a way to define a setting to use proxy while running the installer. I'd expect a way to configure the profile.xml to get thru a proxy.

    I have tried to install MinGW behind a proxy in the years 2009 and 2010 but I couldn't.

    Just today I was successful in doing a installation of MinGW32
    with mingw-get-inst-20110802.exe and
    with mingw-get-0.3-mingw32-alpha-2.1-bin

    For wget (mingw-get) you have this variables in System-Environment:

    ftp_proxy=http://URL.to.PROXY:PORT
    https_proxy=http://URL.to.PROXY:PORT
    http_proxy=http://URL.to.PROXY:PORT
