You can let visio define a special page size, the make page size drawing extents or something like that and than not this page size and define a custom page size for your drawing in your printer settings, this should solve your white margins problem. You can also scale your drawing to fill the landscape page size in a horizontal sence. The vertical will not be filled, but that cannot be helped and the horizontal size is the limit for your page any way.
