Hello MikTeX Users, The graphics file is compiled and processed in LaTeX without any = problem. But why it becomes a problem when it is included a plain TeX = document? Am I mission something? Am I mission something? Is there any = problem in my graphics inclusion in the TeX document? Or is there any = problen in setup of TeX? I use MikTeX 2.1 and WinEdt 5.2 along with GSView 4.0 and GhostScript = 7.0.=20 When I compile a simple document (which follows the paragraph) in LaTeX = with graphicx package and typical includegraphics statements, I get the = tex-->dvi-->ps-->pdf files without problem. Yap display the document = with the graphics without any error. (tex-->pdf and dvi-->pdf remain = problem as the graphics file is not in pdf format. This is understood.) \documentclass{book} \usepackage{graphicx} \begin{document} \begin{figure}[tbh] \begin{center} \includegraphics[height=3D3.4cm]{1-2.eps} \end{center} \end{figure} \end{document} If I use the following statements in plain TeX text, compilation is done = and a dvi file is created without any error message.=20 \topinsert\vglue 13.0cm{\special{ps: epsfile 1-1.eps 1000}}\endinsert \footnote{}{\vglue 3.4cm{\special{ps: epsfile 1-2.eps 1000}}} \vglue 4.0cm{\special{ps: epsfile 2-1.eps 1000}} However, Yap gets into trouble while displaying the resulting dvi file = in the page where the first eps figure is inserted. It gives a = "PostScript Problem" error message. After clicking Okay on the message = window, it keeps on displaying the rest of the document without further = error message. However, all graphics areas remain blank. Yap responds = with the window telling "PostScript Problem; Ghostscript error; See the = Logbook (View/Logbook) for error history". The Logbook says: %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Loading page 1... ptmr8r: checksum mismatch 32: no glyph! ptmr8r: checksum mismatch 32: no glyph! ptmb8r: checksum mismatch 32: no glyph! ptmr8r: checksum mismatch 32: no glyph! ptmri8r: checksum mismatch 32: no glyph! I believe that is not = the source of error. I believe the main difference is in the last few = lines included above. The corresponding message for LaTeX dvi is:=20 Sending D:\MikTex21\texmf\dvips\base\special.pro... Searching PostScript file 1-1.eps... But why it becomes a problem when it is included a plain TeX = document? Am I mission something? Is there any problem in graphics = inclusion in the TeX document? Thanks in advance.
