Hi, Out of fairness, I feel I should point out that the default on some mail programs is HTML nowadays. It may be a bit of a mystery exactly how to turn the stuff off. In MS Outlook 2000, got to tools/options and click on the mail format tab. There you can choose among plain, MS Outlook rich text, and HTML. I wonder why this was less annoying at the "old" MiKTeX list? It is in favor of MiKTeX and LaTeX that those unwilling or incapable to send plain mails can handle it.
