Dear friend Try this: Download the setup program for miktex2.2, place it in the folder with your old files of miktex2.1 and run it.On the setup task window, choose the download only method. Then choose the package set you want (smal, large or total), the package repository (preferably a primary package repository and not a mirror in order to assure that you will download the latest updated files) and finally in the local package repository window browse the folder that you have already placed the files of miktex2.1. This task will donload only new and updated files for the package toy selected and will overwrite the old ones. In older versions of miktex, during setup there were no option for packages (e.g. small, total, large). I think choosing small package will cover your needs. I tried this way before mailing it to you with my old version of miktex 2.1 and worked fine. However because i am a maniac of "pure" setup packages (no update but latest version) I downloaded the large package of miktex2.2 over my modem. I spend about 5 days (about 4 hours per day in the internet), that is tottaly 20 hours of downloading ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Have fun and mail me for more, Yours, Dimitrios A.
