Hello everybody, I have been a happy camper using MiKTeX in combination with TexnicCenter and Sumatra PDF for over 6 years without any problems varying from Windows XP to 7 and 10. However, recently I received a new Windows 10 installation and after installing MiKTeX 2.9.6361 64-bit I encounter the following problems when updating or auto-installing: * When running MiKTeX Update it fails with the error: The executed process did not succeed. filename=”C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.9\miktex\bin\x64\initexmf.exe”, arguments=”—force –mklinks –verbose”, exitCode=”1” Attached you find the related update.log and initexmf.log files. * Additionally, the same error occurs when I try to compile a paper and auto-install missing packets. Attached you find the related texniccenter.log and pdflatex.log files inidicating a problem while running initexmf. I found other posts with similar problems, though those could usually not install at all, which I could without a warning. Additionally, I did not change the filename of the setup file. As found in the update.log and initexmf.log files, besides the executables miktex-asy.exe and miktex-lacheck.exe there are no other executables found in the directory C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MiKTeX\2.9\miktex/bin/x64\ .All these executables are found in the C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.9\miktex\bin\x65\ directory as expected from a system-wide install. Line 146 of initexmf.log complains about an access-is-denied(5) error, though the user does have full access to the user’s roaming-folder, and read-and-execute permissions to the program-files folder. Running the initexmf command with these parameters gives exactly the same results as in the logs. Any clues on how I can solve this problem? Best regards, Niels |
