Calling mkfntmap --force --verbose give the following lines of output among many other lines D:/texmf/fonts/type1: caching, new cache contents: 0 fonts, 1 dirs D:/texmf/fonts/type1/bh: caching, new cache contents: 0 fonts, 1 dirs D:/texmf/fonts/type1/bh/lucida: caching, new cache contents: 0 fonts, 0 dirs C:/Program Files/MiKTeX 2.9/fonts/type1: caching, new cache contents: 0 fonts, 5 dirs Is the font file *.pfb is necessary for latex and pdflatex?
