There are several options.  If you are in desperate need of TeX, then =

can directly download ISO image from www.tug.org/protext which has =
MiKTeX,
along with additional programs such as ghostview, TeXincCenter,etc. =20

Or you can get TeX Collection cd-rom from tug.org (for a small price).

Other opinion is to download the MikTex 2.7 setup and run it from your =
home
computer or a friend's computer not subject to IT policy, and save the
entire package onto the CD and then you can use the CD (save setup.exe =
on CD
as well if you want), to install on the computer.

Regardless, I think that the package repository for MikTex 2.7 isn't =
working
right now anyhow.

Hello there,

can a full repository of MiKTeX 2.7 be downloaded directly, without =
using
the setup.exe?  When I use the setup.exe firewalls put in place by our =
IT
department  won't let setup.exe connect to any repository.  I checked on
CTAN, the full distribution is there but I didn't find a way to download =
it
without
doing it package by package, there must be a better way?  I have used
MiKTeX for years, IT have just set me up with a new machine and I am =
left
with no TeX distribution for the time being and the new security =
policies
put in place recently is a pain when packages from the Web need to be
installed.
