Thanks for your reply! No, actually it doesn't since I was not able to download packages (a well known problem nowadays:)), but at least I was able to execute the installer. It's not that type of "Unknown archive file type" problem. I will post what exactly Vista says whenever I try to install 2.7 as soon as I have an opportunity. And I was in the administrator mode when trying to install. The strangest thing is that the message regarding "Basic MiKTeX 2.7" Installer.
