[MiKTeX] MikTeX version

Dear All:

How do I find out the exact version of my MikTeX download?
For example, the MikTeX web site states
    MikteX 2.7
    Version 2933
    Date 1/12/2008
but most of the depositories are dated only as of 1/04/2008.
So if I download from those depositories(dated 1/04/2008) what version 
number do I get?

Also, why are the depositories "slow" in mirroring the web site? Is that 
because Chriatian Schenk works so hard to have the updates too 
frequently that the depositories can't keep up with it?

Finally, is there a "primary" depository that hosts the version 
mentioned by the web site?
