Hi for using your backup copy, 1/ open MikTeX options/root tab and remember one of the path folder (I cannot remember what the path looks like but it should be something like C:/Program Files/Miktex2.6/tex/latex/packages/) 2/ copy natbib.sty into that folder 3/ refresh That should do it.
