The point about the old form of localtexmf is = that it is no longer used by MiKTeX to store new files created on the fly = (typically fonts). However, it's a must, as before, if you want to add non-MiKTeX packages. And it has always been necessary to create it by hand - since MiKTeX can't know the best place for it. The rules are simple: copy the standard TeX directory system (TDS) and refresh your MiKTeX filename database whenever you add a new file. |
