Hi all, I have recently installed MikTeX (ver. 2.5) and WinEdt (Build 20050701 = v5.4) in a laptop and when I compile my file which uses the following = instruction: --------------------- \newif\ifPDF \ifxpdfoutput\undefined\PDFfalse \else \ifnum \pdfoutput \>0 \PDFfalse \else\PDFfalse \fi \fi \ifPDF \usepackage[pdftex]{graphicx,color} \usepackage[pddftex,cololink]{hyperref} \else \usepackage[dvips]{graphicx} \usepackage[dvips]{hyperref} \fi ---------------------- in order to create links in a PDF, it appears the following error: -------------------- !Incomplete \ifnum: all text was ignored after line4. <inserted text> \fi -------------------- If a remove it, the problem disappears, however, in a another part of my = file I use the \protect command in order to use a reference so it can = appear in caption, this is: ------------------------- \begin{table}[h!]\fonsize{8}{10pt}\selectfont \caption{Physical = properties \protect\cite{Downs}.} ------------------------- Producing the following message: ------------------------- !Extra \fi. <recently read> \fi 1.2083 ...sical properties \protect \cite{Downs}.} ? ! Emergency stop. <recently read> \fi 1.2083 ...sical properties \protect \cite{Downs}.} End of file on the terminal! ------------------------- The same file I have used it before in another machine without any = problem although with another version of MiTeX and WindEdt (if one of = these were the problem). Is there anybody who kindly help me? Of course I don't know if this is a = MikTeX related problem and my apologies in advance. Regards, Edgar |
