Dear Christian and fellows, I am somewhat confused; maybe I have misunderstood the following sentence: easy package management: missing packages can be installed automatically; a wizard helps you to keep your MiKTeX system up-to-date and this does not consern the beta versions (currently beta 9) of MiKTeX 2.5 - or? I have made a clean installation of MiKTeX 2.5 every new beta version, adding "C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.5\miktex\bin" (without quotes) in the path (WinXP with SP2), added the languages (Finnish, Swedish, and UK English) that I need, updated (always miktex-msvcrt offered - why?), added C:\localtexmf to the Roots, updated formats, and refreshed FNDB. However, running latex foo.tex in console always stops with first "usepackage" - e.g. fancyhdr - that does not belong to the base installation package, and the log tells that the installed miktex does not know the Finnish hyphenation. - no question of automatic installation of missing and needed packages. Have I done something wrong with the installation, or is this most important feature something that will not be added before the final issue of version 2.5? Olli the Greybeard |
