> I have a postscript file which I cannot include in a latex document. I have Wrong, see below. =20 > \usepackage{graphicx} > \DeclareGraphicsRule{.prn}{eps}{.prn}{} > \includegraphics[draft=3Dfalse,height=3D\linewidth,angle=3D90]{ex1-d = ep-bw.prn} This indicates already that there's something wrong. Your file name extension looks like you want to include a (maybe postscript) *print* = file. These files having postscript operators (especially a showpage) which by default are not allowed for inclusion of graphics. Don't try to include multipage print files. =20 > both latex and pdflatex appear to work just fine and produce > no errors: > ... [4] <ex1-dep-bw.prn> [5] ... >=20 > dvips appears to work just fine and produces no errors: > ... [6<ex1-dep-bw.prn><ex1-dep-bw.prn>] ... So your first sentence is wrong -- you obviously have included it. =20 > yap gives a postscript error when I switch to the page with > the picture: > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > Error: /undefined in =04@endspecial > Operand stack: > --nostringval-- PermitFileReading --nostringval-- > PermitFileWriting --nostringval-- 0 --nostringval-- = --nostringval-- > Execution stack: > %interp_exit .runexec2 --nostringval-- > --nostringval-- --nostringval-- 2 %stopped_push > --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- false > 1 %stopped_push 1 3 %oparray_pop 1 3 > %oparray_pop 1 3 %oparray_pop 1 3 %oparray_pop > .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval-- > --nostringval-- 2 %stopped_push --nostringval-- > Dictionary stack: > --dict:1125/1686(ro)(G)-- --dict:1/20(G)-- > --dict:71/200(L)-- --dict:95/300(L)-- --dict:44/200(L)-- > Current allocation mode is local > MiKTeX GPL Ghostscript 8.15: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1 > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To recall what was said already on this mailing list: YAP is a *DVI* processor. Although having some basic postscript support it is not = intended nor guaranteed to successfully display everything. =20 > what is wrong? First you should produce single page graphics. Then try to find some = tools to convert the Powerpoint file to EPS, PDF, or some bitmap format, e.g., when I'm running Powerpoint (and having Acrobat installed) I have a = button to produce a pdf file. Then you can extract the pages you need with pdfpages (for inclusion of complete pages) or the Acrobat extract pages feature or export... Or you take your print file into = Ghostview/Ghostscript and produce single page EPS files. > how do I get the PS into my latex? Like your first sentence this isn't correct. You have included it but = the file was not in the correct format. Best regards, Ulrich Dirr |
