I'm using MikTex 2.3 under Windows 2000. I have produced a pdf file from LaTeX source using pdflatex with default settings. I've been told by an electronic journal (www.bepress.com) that my pdf file contains all type 3 fonts whereas the journal requires type 1 or True Type fonts. How can I setup pdflatex in MikTex to use type 1 fonts? BTW I have found the page http://ipe.compgeom.org/pdftex.html which appears to give a careful description of what is required, but the description is complicated by the fact that it applies to unix pdflatex as well as MikTex. If I don't hear any contrary advice, I will trying working through that page.
