Hi Fariz,

That feature is not available in Fineract at the moment. meaning you cannot
divide the principal amount like that based on a %. it supports either
equal Principal or Equal Installment Amortization

Hi,
does MIFOS or Apache Fineract implement the "payment repository"?
We would need to implement system for flexible payment management for government.

The aim is to provide system for agencies to manage their own rules for "payments" and "discounts" and to do "billing".
My description might not be accurate as am not from the "world of finance".

Is it something MIFOS or Fineract can provide us?
Somebody from (Central) Europe using it or any other reference?

Interesting topic, lately I have struggling to setup loan product with flat interest rate  while the client pays in 6 installments. With my trial I could not understand mifos calculation because it brought something different. For instance

Principle :100,000
Interest rate 8% as whole (for the whole period)
Period :6months
Installment period 1 month.

When I did the calculation a side and compared with mifos it was not tallying.

I will share the loan details screen shot later but I see the issue quite the same with my Mr Moses below.

Thank you for that information. I redid the last step and the folder was
immediately created. I went to http://localhost:8080 to verify but it just

Hi. After deploying the war file, did you start tomcat or was it already
running?

You should have a fineract directory in the same place where you put the
fineract war file. This directory is created by Apache Tomcat right after
you paste the war file and start tomcat.

required. I have reached the last step 6 which is to copy the Apache
Fineract binary. I pasted the "fineract-provider.war" in the Apache Tomcat
webapps folder. Instructions say it will be deployed after a few minutes.
It has been 2 hours and nothing has happened yet. I'm not sure if I did
something wrong.

Greetings Everyone,

My name is Eva from Kenya and I only just started looking at Mifos for a
couple of welfare organizations that have been using spread sheets for
contributions and loans management. 

I signed for a free instance of mifos to try out and have a few questions:

1.	It is populated with example clients, which helped initially but now
I would like to delete them and populate with my own, but it is not
possible. Is there a way to reset the instance and start with my own data?

 

2.	When I select any of the pre-populated clients, I get the following
error message: 

"field is required: error.msg.report.unknown.data.integrity.issue -"
although all the mandatory fields for the client have values. How can I find
out the problem field?

 

3.	I also just got mifos running in docker on windows 10, but when I
try to import employees from an excel sheet, I get:

"Error while manipulating file EMPLOYEE.xls due to a ContentRepository
issue. Unable to create parent directories of:
/.fineract/DefaultDemoTenant/Documents/IMPORT/1/..."

 

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Moses,

You can use the holiday feature in Fineract to auto-apply the holidays and
reschedule the Installments accordingly.

Note:
Setting holidays will apply holidays automatically to the new loans created
after holidays are activated..however for it to affect existing loans make
sure to run the job after holidays are activated "apply holidays to loan"
under admin->systems->manage jobs

Hi! Thanks for your answer.

Every account is configured in the "Accounting" section of the savings
product. Furthermore, I checked todays interest postings and the journal
entries are posted correctly, but there is not a single journal entry
related to taxes. The product has a tax group and a tax component
associated.

I remember watching the tax posted in the "Transactions" page of the
savings account. Could this have been something I saw in an older Mifos X
version?

I'm pretty sure tax calculation for interests in savings accounts was
working before.

I would appreciate any other thoughts and ideas.

As far as I know,
There isn't any specific configuration to enable or disable tax config
globally.
However, the accounting should be enabled at the savings product level
because tax component splits are only visible at the Journal entry level.
so check the Journal entry of the Interest posting once to make sure the
tax is working or not

One Important part is the tax in Mifos/Fineract is an Inclusive tax system.
So tax% should be calculated and added to the savings account nominal
Interest rate

FX is not part of the current Mifos X. I think the FX should not be included in a CORE banking functionality, because it depends on other systems like money market data, treasury, settlement, etc. FX should be a plugin, extension or addon.

Hi. Both articles are from 2015.

I've never seen something like that in the latest versions of Mifos X / Fineract.

Perhaps someone from the development team has more information on that but I highly doubt they implemented it.

Hi,

FX is not part of the current Mifos X. I think the FX should not be
included in a CORE banking functionality, because it depends on other
systems like money market data, treasury, settlement, etc. FX should be a
plugin, extension or addon.

Please use the latest version, any previous version is not supported and
could have potential issues that have been already fixed.
