Late yesterday afternoon, after changing the yStep to 400, I got the program to got through an entire slide in focus. Oddly, it then went back to the original starting position instead of the next slide. I was too tired to try again, and too tired to lsend you an email. I'll try again over the weekend and let you know what happens. We are near a victory, whether it is diagonally or rectangularly. I'll let you know what happens. I generate an initial list and have the script load it. Then the script does an autofocus and calculates how much it drifted from the original position. It uses that information to shift the z-coordinate of the next position. > > I've been running this on Prior stages and one Nikon TiE without any problems. However, we recently got a new TiE and when I ran the script the stage started jumping all over the place. It is as if it's mixing the coordinates of different positions in some pattern I haven't figure out. For example, it will jump to positions (x(1),y(2)), (x(3),y(1)), etc. > > I'm attaching a simplified version of the script. The problem seems to be related to using MultiStagePosition.goToPosition. If I take that part out the stage move to the right positions. Am I doing something wrong? For example, is getXPosition the best way to figure out where the stage is? > > Has anybody encountered anything like this?
