Hi folks, first of all I would like to say that I've been everywhere looking for help, reading a lot of digests, and I couldn't find anything useful. So I sent this question to the OpenBSD Misc mailing list, a couple of days ago, thinking that this might be a common issue to the BSD community, but there is no reply to my e-mail so far. I really can't figure what's going on. Maybe you guys can help me out with this one: I'm trying to install mhash 0.8.16, on my OpenBSD 3.1 i386 box. The configure works fine, the make goes on without major problems (just some warnings), and the make install works fine, it only shouts a message about how should I pass the /usr/local/lib to my ldconfig. After a quick "ldconfig -R", I can see the mhash library loaded with "ldconfig -r": 26:-lmhash.2.0 => /usr/local/lib/libmhash.so.2.0 Everything looks fine. But some programs (such as AIDE, or even mcrypt) can't see this library. They keep complaining about the lack of '-lmhash' option -- at the configure! I've even tried to use the "old port" version of mhash 0.8.13, but the problem still exists. Does someone know what can I do to fix this? If there's information missing in this puzzle, please, let me know and I'll get the info needed. Thanks a lot! Best regards, Gustavo Chamone |
