No

This is with both 1.00 and 1.01.
My region setting is set to German, locale for non-unicode programs to Japanese. By default, MComix starts in German. I have switched the language to English and restarted. Preferences dialog still has "close" as "schließen" (German).

After testing some more it seems that the "close" button is not changing language no matter which one I select for the UI - it's always localized to German.

A similar thing happens to the "shortcuts" tab, it always stays English (I'm guessing it's not localized yet)

win8.1 x64.

Do you get the same behavior when using an "open with" external command?

I can't seem to configure it, the "external command documentation" link in the dialog does not work.

    Basically, I'm using

    7z.exe x %A

With a working dir of R:\ and I'm getting a "error 2: system cannot find the file specified". Copying the command the preview is showing to the command prompt works...

edit: not setting the working directory pops up a 7z.exe windows showing the progress. I'm not sure if it re-opens the archive after that.

Okay. And if you open a PDF file? Do you get a popup window for each page extraction?

    Affirmative.

Can you try with the attached build (both opening a 7z/PDF file, and using an external command)?

"Open with" now doesn't show the 7z window. Opening 7z/PDF normally still shows a command window.

    Like playing a game of Whac-A-Mole... :P

    And with this build?

    Woohoo! Thanks for testing.

...while we're in the process of derailing this ticket, it seems that there is still an issue with PDF - I can open them via File->open or Library, but if I open it from windows explorer ("open with..." menu), it says "unsupported format". This is with all builds that have mutool shipped.

Mmm, maybe because the working directory is not MComix directory? Does it happen with 7z archives (if 7z.exe is not already in your path)?

Also could you create a bug for the location of MComix preferences/data on Windows so we don't forget about it, please?

Yes, removing it from PATH makes it fail just like mutool does. So that's probably it.

Also could you create a bug for the location of MComix preferences/data on Windows so we don't forget about it, please?

    Will do.

OK, please try the attached build: this should work when the working directory is not MComix directory (also check external commands).
