Hello,

mplot3d module is in the svn codebase. You will have to check-out the
sources and make a manual installation.

If you are on linux, it is a very easy process:

First a check-out with svn

svn co https://matplotlib.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/matplotlib/trunk/matplotlib
matplotlib

and then

python setup.py install

Tadaa, the examples should work without any problems.
