[Matplotlib-users] Can I change placement of X-Axis?

I saw one post related to arbitrary axis positioning from 2005, but there was
no solution.

I'd like to generate a plot similar to this:

Is there a way to move the X-axis to Y=0 - and remove the bounding box?
