Hi Martin!
As far as I know there is no one in charge for the german translation.
Over the years several people contributed to it. I did some translations
for year 2004 and 2005 releases but can't continue due to lack of time.
Mantis used to be a bug tracker, so "Fehler" was right for a long time.
Then Mantis broadened its scope and we discussed the translation of
"issue". Because many users still track only bugs and feature requests,
"Problem" was accepted by many but not all users. "Einträge" was one of
the favorites for an alternative translation (its included in the
distribution as strings_german_eintrag.txt) and even "Vorgang" was
suggested on 29. Sept. 2005 as you can see in this list.
If you have the time to produce a strings_german_vorgang.txt feel free
to send it to the list. May be there are other german users that work
together with you to make it the best german translation file ever ;-)
