I have the same problem. Pommed doesn't complain (just signalizes in logs that backlight handler have been found, and they work just fine). So has anyone already filed a bug report? If not I would do so. Any luck? I had the same problem myself. For some reason the apple remote key codes changed or are grabbed the wrong way on my system. So after debugging I came up with this config: name Apple_A1156 bits 8 eps 30 aeps 100 one 0 0 zero 0 0 pre_data_bits 24 # pre_data 0x87EEFB pre_data 0x87EE5C gap 211995 begin codes vol+ 0xB #+ play_pause 0x4 #play/pause vol- 0xD # - forward 0x7 # next backward 0x8 # prev fullscreen 0x2 #Menu end codes end remote give it a try! Advice on fixing would > be greatly appreciated too. With some help from Jean-Baka on this list I've dug somewhat deeper into this problem and I have come to this conclusion: * Most likely, the problem started when I tried to enable boot on a memory stick and I accidentally typed /dev/sda when I meant /dev/sdb - this seems to have confused the gpt/mbr beyond what gptsync could handle. * Initially, the gpt was just slightly broken and somehow half-mended itself so that in MacOSX I would see the EFI partition (almost empty) as well as the Linux ext3 partition. * In grub I get the option to boot some kind of generic linux as well as an explicit (but broken) reference to the correct partition (3), plus a (seemingly) correct reference to partition 4 (but this one is just swap so wont boot anyway). * When I fiddle with the EFI partition in MBR to be of the correct type (ee), MacOS will not boot, so I have to keep it "0b". * As I keep fiddling with boot flags etc the gpt table keeps getting worse to the point where it now claims not to exist at all and there is only a MBR. MacOSX still boots quite happily. I'd love to hear from anyone who knows how to repair the gpt (googling appears to come up with nothing helpful, nor does the fdisk/pdisk/refit docs). My current theory is that I may be lucky if I start out with removing all partition from OSX and recreating them with exactly the same sizes. I just need to find a biggish backup drive first... BTW: At the moment my gpt dump looks like this (from OSX): # gpt -r show disk0 start size index contents 0 1 MBR 1 39 40 409600 1 MBR part 11 409640 41680896 2 MBR part 175 42090536 190396485 3 MBR part 131 232487021 1953126 4 MBR part 130 234440147 1468 234441615 32 Sec GPT table 234441647 1 Sec GPT header Still hopeful / Jonas |

Is it possible to pass this module options? Since the motion sensor is not working properly and causes the applesmc module to hang upon boot, I thought I would disable the motion sensor for now. Thank you, SB -- If you sow your wild oats, hope for a crop failure. |

Sorry if this looks odd - sent from a phone. I just messed up my gpt, by fiddling with parted and fdisk. Now efi disk shows up in MacOSX and Grub does not find the Linux partition. rEFIt sees everything, but the EFI shell is broken. Could anyone dump their full (working) gpt and mbr tables for me? Advice on fixing would be greatly appreciated too. Thanks and advance / Jonas |

Hello; I'm wanting to know if anybody body has any ideas on how to have the wireless mighty mouse upon wake up, not attach itself to hidd(or whatever mode it goes into) So that the scroll ball functionality is intact. i.g. upon wakeup I usually have to call hid2hci --tohci to have my mighty mouse working properly(scroll ball). For the time being this is fine, but the problem I'm running into is SELinux(AVC's denials) i.g. everytime I suspend, upon wakeup I have to turn my policy into permissive mode, before issuing hid2hci --tohci, due to the devpt or node changing. Personally I prefer not to touch my policy, leaving me to the question of how to have the wireless mighty mouse not attach itself to hidd(or whatever mode it goes into) upon wakeup, and stay at it's original state upon wakeup? Also FWIW with the latest git, xorg 7.3, and the latest appletouch patches, upon wakeup, appletouch is able to survive suspend, all functions are working propely(cool). any pointers would be appreciated. regards; -- Justin P. I recently installed linux on a 4th generation macbook pro and everything is working properly except for the motion sensor. I get an error that states: applesmc: Cannot set motion sensor. might not receive some interrupts. This only occurs if I hard boot to linux. If I first boot to osx, and then soft boot (restart) to linux, the motion sensor works as expected. Kernel: 2.6.25.5 (all mactel-linux patches applied along with the hid-input fix for the function keys) Can someone confirm this behavior? Thank you, HC |

hey every1 - i just have 1 .. well 2 issues after a nix install on a mb 2,1 - i cant get video card to vsync properly ( i see breaks when i drag windows) - and i'm just curious if it is the fault with compiz or my x setup (xorg.config is below) - as for compiz i have the sync to vblank box checked and detect displays on so things should be millky smooth (is it also possible to sync the external display too?) .. the other issue is the wifi and suspending - i noticed that if the wireless is on and associated to an access pt , and i hibernate , I cannot wake it up later (i just get a black screen - i am using madwifi checked out from svn) ... in any case - this is on kernel 2.6.25 with patches , white mb , 2ghz core 2 duo (so 2,1 i think) .. thanx for any help here's xorg.conf Section "ServerFlags" Option "AIGLX" "true" EndSection Section "extensions" Option "Composite" "Enable" EndSection Section "DRI" Group 0 Mode 0666 EndSection Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "X.org Configured" Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0 InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer" InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard" InputDevice "Synaptics Touchpad" EndSection Section "Files" RgbPath "/usr/share/X11/rgb" ModulePath "/usr/lib/xorg/modules" FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/misc/" FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/TTF/" FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/OTF" FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/Type1/" FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/100dpi/" FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/75dpi/" EndSection Section "Module" Load "record" Load "dbe" Load "extmod" Load "dri" Load "xtrap" Load "GLcore" Load "glx" Load "freetype" Load "type1" Load "synaptics" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Keyboard0" Driver "kbd" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Mouse0" Driver "mouse" Option "Protocol" "auto" Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice" Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5 6 7" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Synaptics Touchpad" Driver "synaptics" Option "Protocol" "auto-dev" Option "SendCoreuEvents" "True" Option "SHMconfig" "True" EndSection Section "Monitor" Identifier "Built-in LCD" VendorName "APP" ModelName "9c5f" # Hope the values are correct. It is good information ! I wish to express my gratitude for your information. Firmware will become unnecessary as for all Macbook series in the future. Best regards, Nobuhiro -- Nobuhiro Iwamatsu |

Hmm, sorry should have looked into this closer. Turns out that intel released two 2.6GHz 7800 65nm versions. The first was the X7800 which has an unlocked multiplier, and then later they released the T7800 which has a locked multiplier cause its max TDP is 35W as opposed to the 44W of the X7800 which used the Merom EX?? chipset not the Merom chipset. Correct me if I'm wrong.
