Lore was designed from the ground up to be a different kind of interactive fiction; finished stories exist somewhere between a gamebook and a text adventure. Little puzzle-solving is required to complete a Lore story - all emphasis is really placed on story.

Lore is completely cross-platform, designed to be made and played on a variety of devices. The Lore Editor runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Finished Lore stories are compiled as HTML 5/Javascript, so they will run on nearly anything, but are designed especially for tablets.

Also, Lore stories happen in real-time. Traditional IF stops every turn to ask the player what to do next; this is fine, but Lore stories continue to run regardless of player activity. This gives more power to the author to control the pace of the narrative.
