Note to MFC translation (BayesIt)

Hello, translators.

Since in MFC static controls can't hold the lines longer than 255 chars, I would
ask you to note this when translating BayesIt form controls. (Some explanations
in dialogs are relatively long and I suppose that you potentially could overlap
this limit in your translation. Please, avoid it!).

This is special spelling&hyphenation engine written by russian company
'Informatic'. The old versions of this engine by default included in
distribution of MS Office. Orfo2002 is standalone product which also can be
plugged to MS Office and also to Adobe PageMaker, Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXPress
and some more applications. Since MS Office uses CSAPI (Common Speller
Application Programming Interface) and since this CSAPI is documented, other
application can plug a CSAPI server to check spelling - exactly like The Bat
does. Orfo is one of the best russian spellers - but it is useless for other
languages.

Yes, it means "of" :)

"Save tokens from the headers of spam letters as signal strings [for further
usage in selective downloading filter]". It means that the element associated
with this phrase (button) will save into standalone text file all tokens which
were met in the headers of spam letters - i.e. it can be used for "selective
download" filter. However, since the tokens need to be transformed into
"regexp"s, they called "signal strings" instead of "tokens".


However, these very phrases are obsolete (all three of them) - they come from
the old 0.3 version of the filter and weren't cleaned out from resources. You can
just skip these lines.

It happened some time ago, but in recent series of LNC updates for The Bat!
the compiler works without errors. I did not compile language pack for
BayesIt, so may be some errors in the original.

This warns that a form object has no title. Please find these lines in

some "splash" windows).

There will be a separate LNG file for the plugin.

The current version of the plugin doesn't support translation, but Alexey Vinogradov will soon create a new version of plugin which will supoprt translation.

First, I always have a backup copy of my LNC file. After updating my local
copy from CVS repository and translating it with LngCompiler I also use
TextPad editor to review new LNC file. Very often I do additional check with
ExamDiff utility, comparing backup and newly translated LNC file. It
visualises all changes which are done between CVS update cycles.

I correct detected errors only with TextPad and create next backup of LNC
file only when a new update on CVS repository appears.

Sorry, I am not Max... :)

I am coding an avanture algorithm which will open external .lng file, make
"resource-only DLL" in the memory and just plug it as resource source to the
main plugin. Especially for this purpose two utils will be (or even has been)
made: one (called LNGXtractor) extracts binary resources from any windows PE
file (.exe, .dll, .scr and so on) into .lnc and .inc file (the source language
files for BayesIt was extracted by this very utility), and second will make
resource-only DLL from compiled .lng file and source PE executable. BayesIt will
integrate the second one, but not write final DLL to disk, but plug it directly
in memory.

AFAIK the European software called "Passolo" can be used for practically same
purpose, but it is very, very expensive...

correct it.

Hello!

  We made BayesIt language files available for translation. Just checkout the language files.

  To translate BayesIt resources, just create a new directory "BayesIt" somewhere on your disk and place LngCmp.EXE there. Run LngCmp.EXE from that new location and point it to /lng/main/BayesIt.lnc and /lng/main/BayesIt.inc. Also copy the BayesIt.lnc to your appropriate language directory, for example to /lng/FIN if you are translating to Finnish. Then go to /lng/FIN and add the LNC file to repository by typing "cvs add BayesIt.lnc".

Problem with language compiler

Hello,

I'm using for editing the LNC file the program Textpad.

Now I had the opinion, that - after updating the THEBAT.LNG file and a
saving in the language compiler, the new strings will automatically be
written in my LNC file.

Investigation result, that this is not the case. New strings will be
saved after editing them in the compiler.

My question to other translators, who edit there LNC file also
externally. How do you do that? You translate all strings first in the
language compiler and you edit after that the LNC file in the editor?
