Mic works fine in Ubuntu 18 with Jack Server but other cannot hear participants.
Using Jamulus in Ubuntu 18, bought a TetonPRo mic. Mic works fine in Skype on Ubuntu, as well as speakers. I was using a ProWebcam C920 mic prior but it didn't work in Jamulus
running /proc/asound/cards I can see my speakers and new mic, and can see the choices in the aJackctl gui. So I matched the inputs and outputs in the Jack Server gui with the same ones in the Ubuntu sound configuration gui/test menus. I plugged my headphones directly into the mic. When I do a test session connecting my Jamulus client to the Jamulus server running on the same machine using local host, I can hear my voice and guitar through the headphones. And in a live posted Jamulus sessions, I can see the mic levels with the TetonPro mic but not with the ProWebcam, which doesn't work. Both mics work in Skype and Zoom on the same Ubuntu box.
Both mics work in Win10 Jamulus sessions, but the audio is not the best, as I am running Windows10 in a VMWare on an old pc running Ubuntu 14
My Ubuntu 18 machine is new and has a robust AMD Ryzen5 CPU with 32 gb of RAM, the audio
in Jamulus is crystal clear vs the Windows10 environment.
Has anyone had similar issues, where only one input or output device works in a Jamulus session?
Appreciate any insight into this. Prefer to use Linux if possible.

It's hard to know what to advise as there a number of variables do with routing inputs around with Jack and so on .
Personally, I just use an exernal mixer (and old Behringer XENYX 802), plug all my instruments and mics into that, connect the output from the mixer to my audio interface (a Behringer UCA222), and so just have one input to the PC for simplicity.

Hi
I managed to run the jamulus with last ver of Ubuntu with same USB uca200
audio sound card and the results are same as in windows 10, the uca200 is
not shown in the device list , the only device I "see" in the audio cards
is "Jack"

Thanks for responding Gilgongo. I have A Behringer audio interface arriving
today, from reading many wiki posts, it helps solve many hardware issues
with inputs as you state.
If the Behringer works, I will post my response for other Linux users.

Yes, Jack should be the only audio interace you should see I think. You then use qjackctl to configure the various settings you need to control the uca200.

Hi Nevat - does your sound card have an ASIO driver? If not, install this free one and try again:
http://www.asio4all.org/
Your card may or may not have good enough latency for Jamulus. See the overview on audio interfaces here:
https://github.com/corrados/jamulus/wiki/Software-Manual

I got the same result using QJackctl. I only see Jack in the Jamulus
settings menu in the sound card configuration menu
