Hi everyone, I've just started to test Jamulus before trialling with a bunch of musicians.
I downloaded and burnt the Jamulus OS image to a USB stick and the client works fine. I've subsequestly installed a Jamulus server on AWS and all good.
I've now progressed to installing Jamulus using the script "jamulus-upgrade-v1.07.run" onto an existing Ubuntu MATE 20.04.1 system. This also works fine but I've have to jump through a couple of hoops, primarily because the Jamulus hardware test fails - nohup jamulus-hw-check. The test previously worked without issues in Jamulus OS on the same hardware. I appreciate I'm now running Ubuntu MATE 20.04 rather than Ubuntu Studio 19.10 but looking to understand why the hardware check fails. On running the check I can see it tests the internet connection, then my sound card on the motherboard and then tries to check the sound on my graphics card and freezes. I' forced to cancel the test then get a message "The audio check has been cancelled !!!" A friend also running Ubuntu MATE 20.04.1 has the same issue with the same graphics card.
The output from nohup.out is listed below;-
arg progress-file=/tmp/tmp.pYoYPCHDGu-hw/jamulus-audio-check.progress.tmp
arg status-file=/tmp/tmp.pYoYPCHDGu-hw/jamulus-audio-check.status

Hi Gilgongo, thanks I realised I had posted to the wrong group shortly after posting. I've since been in dialogue with Laurent on the Jamulus OS project and he's done some great work to help resolve the issue.

I'm afraid this is a question for the Jamulus OS project. We don't maintain that here.
