I found out last night that I'm a finalist in an international opera competition. We were supposed to perform with orchestra this week if we were selected, but of course that cannot happen. They've asked that each of us submit two videos with piano accompaniment so that they can select the winner. I have a Mac. Has anyone been able to record a video while using the platform? I work with my pianist several times a week and we're doing great work on here, and I would love to record from the great connection we have, but I must be in a gown and have video also.

I am willing to pay a consultant fee to you or Volker or any of the tech guys who know how to configure intricate aspects of this platform. I am not technically inclined at all. I have a Mac and I haven't been able to set up a server. I would like to do that and to make it a private one, and also to have assistance in understanding how to record. Who is interested?
I finally got a recording after a bunch of research! The command line switch page only mentions that the --recording parameter ALSO needs a folder specification in the notes at the top of the page, and it subtly indicates that this is to be run on the SERVER. So if you don't run your own server, you're out of luck. And it would be great if you could start the recording from the client computer (otherwise you may have to run into another room to get to the server to start it).
Your server startup should be like: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Jamulus\jamulus.exe" -s -R "C:\Jamulus Recordings"
Then the "New Recording" button will appear at the bottom of its GUI. WAV files will be created in that folder for the session and recording ends when the last person signs off from the server. So you'll have a bit of editing to do on the huge wav files but it does work. Also note that if you have the checkbox "Start Minimized on Windows Start" that the above command line is not invoked and you won't have the recording ability in place if your server restarts.

Recording works well for us too and, to add to Wysocki's point, I don't think the command line version starts with that flag. So, what I did was also used the -w switch on the command line so chat pops up and says "We are recording" when we connect to the server from the client. Then I know if I don't see that when I connect, I need to restart the server with the command line options like what Wysocki posted above.
Congratulations on getting selected and good luck with your competition!

I also would love to know if anyone has figured out a way to make just audio recordings, so my students can record their lessons.
Hi Alison. Your own (or mate) Jamulus server can do this since some days ago :

Enjoy their great work !
Oooops, my bad: no video
