[RESOLVED] Infrequent Segmentation Fault at mission startup

From time to time LAC aborts to desktop with a "Segmentation Fault" within about 1 or 2 seconds after starting one of the online missions. On most desktop Linux distros this happens about 5% of the time after the user clicks on "START MISSION".

Because this has been infrequent, we've just been ignoring it.

But our experience with LAC on Valve Corporations' new "Steam Deck" portable console gaming PC has increased the nee for fixing this bug, because on that hardware, LAC's early beta test software suffers from this segmentation fault bug about 75% of the time after clicking "START MISSION".
