Hello dear Robert .

I finally sent you this email, I had a lot of things to do and
encountered some big
difficulties, as in :

I have been in a war with those creepy and small animals for almost a
full year now !
But the previous, last cleaning job was completely good :

THERE ARE NO MORE LITTLE CREEPERS IN MY APARTMENT !!!

So I'm free to enter my apartment when I want, why I want and I can
sleep there again !

I bought a Lenovo Laptop with Intel 5th generation chips, but I wanted
Windows 7 Pro to run on it.
I hope I get no compatibility errors. ...
The system has a SSD of 1T , 5th generation chips of Intel CPU, don't
know which
speed it runs ...

Big problem though, when I tried the Wireless connection, it didn't work
.
I haven run and watched the Problem Solving soft- and hard-ware
programs,
but I often don't understand their input and these logfiles,
It did gave a possible defect pointing to the router, so I still have
NO internet,
at home .

That are the main reasons why I didn't contact you in all this time .
But I'm planning to get back to LinuxAirCombat as quick as I can,
....but I have lost both my Desktop Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and my little
Laptop
with ZORIN 7 on it (it's derived from Ubuntu 20.04 LTS)

Hopefully You could send me some advice for some of my problems .

Hi Henk! It's GREAT to hear from you again and it's especially great to learn that your terrible old problem has been solved! I rejoice with you and I look forward to your participation in our regular gatherings now that you once again have easy access to your LINUX computers.

I am trying to figure out what to do with this forum posting, since it really doesn't belong in our "Mumble and LAC" forum. I think I will copy the text into our "General Discussion" forum instead. When I do that, the text will be attributed to ME even though the body of the text is from YOU. I cannot fix that once I move the text myself.

When a LINUX laptop can't access WiFi it is usually because the WiFi adapter hardware built into the laptop is newer than the LINUX kernel in use. LINUX kernels are routinely updated with built-in drivers for the latest WiFi adapters, but some desktop LINUX distros are not kept up-to-date as well as others. Look for a desktop LINUX version that is using a very recent LINUX kernel for the most likely path to overcome this problem.

My suggestion: access your favorite "AI" (Artificial Intelligence) search engine and ask it a question like: "Which popular LINUX distros are most reliably updated when a new LINUX kernel is published?". You will probably be advised to install "Arch", or "Kubuntu". If you follow the resulting guidance you'll probably have success with your WiFi hardware.
