LAC Version 9.94 (Lac09p94E) has just completed successful alpha testing and we are releasing it for beta testing. As of this writing (04Aug2026) we've published the source code archive (Lac09p94E.tar.gz) and the general-purpose AppImage (Lac994E-x86_64.AppImage) in our "BetaTestVersions" download folder here at SourceForge.net. We are still working on the usual precompiled version for Raspberry Pi with associated scripts to automatically download, compile, and install it. We are also still working on the SteamDeck version. LAC 9.94 has some nice new features that we think will be helpful to many users, including the ability to map Mumble's "Push-to-Talk" facility to a joystick or Controller button (which will be VERY useful to SteamDeck users). It also fixes some bugs that have been tolerated by LAC users for a long, long time.

NOTE that you will need to delete your existing "LacControls.txt" file (if you've used a prior version of LAC) and let this new version 9.94 build you a new one, because that file is a little bigger now and attempts to use a smaller, older version of the file will result in segmentation faults.
One of the cool new features of this new version 9.94 allows you to map a joystick button to LAC's "Push-to-Talk" facility. This even works in modern "Wayland" environments where "Push-to-Talk" has heretofore been impossible!
