Hello Friends, =20 My root file system and linux is in rom (flash). The linux itself runs out of ram. When I reprogram the rom, I erase and write a new image of the rom from a compact flash card. After the new image is programmed in the function fclose() hangs up, implying that fclose() is rom resident and loaded as needed. Does this make sense ? Remember even after erasing the rom fopen() works fine. =20 Thanks=20 =20 Yash |

I just got my MobilePro 880 fixed up, and would like to get linux working on it. I'm wondering if there's any PCMCIA support, I wouldn't mind some wireless networking. I wouldn't mind doing some light development work myself, if there's something useful to work on. I'm also interested in cross compiling, so I can run stuff like python, and any favorite tools that haven't been ported by the you guys. I see some stuff about that on the web pages, so I should be able to get started with that. X might be nice to have, but its hardly necessary. Has anyone else had problems with the keyboard? Mine just quit out after a few drops a beer got splashed on it. Never seen a keyboard so sensitive. Hi, again. Thank you, Mike. I've successfully cvs committed. linux-vr cvs start working again. In message <MGE...@po...>you write: > Not sure why CVS commits would have stopped working. Not sure why CVS commits would have stopped working. Pretty sure there wasn't anything mentioned in any of the SourceForge update emails that I... ummm... sometimes look at... I noticed that most of the project members are assigned to "undefined" project role, not sure if that makes a difference. I don't see any controls that explicitly enable/disable CVS per user in the admin page. I just flipped your user ID over to "developer". If that makes a difference for you, I'll flip everyone else over. I haven't even used CVS in about 2.5 years, so I can't really speculate what else might be going wrong. I'd ported kernel level floating point emulation into Linux-VR kernel long time ago (it's already merged into linux-vr CVS). It shoud work for hard-float compiled userland binaries of Debian. Give it a try. BTW, I'd been trying commit to cvs repositry, but it seems not working, anyone knows why ? |

I don't think anyone has worked on this project for over 2 years :( The kernel is still something like 2.4.0-pre8. I concider it dead, although I still get a lot of hits on a little page I made about it some time ago. > > How about making debian working? Has anyone given that a try? Hi, I just subscribed to this list because I just managed to successfully compile & boot a kernel for the compaq aero 1550. (Using code from CVS) If anyone is interested the kernel & it's config is available at http://cos.skoj.nu/joxx/ Now I would like to do something useful with it. Where should I begin? Does anyone a more mature root file system than Bradley LaRonde's demo image? How about making debian working? Has anyone given that a try? The way I've understood it that shouldn't work right out of the box because of that we're lacking a FPU. Correct? Thanks everyone who has been hacking on this! You're great! -- /Martin |

(fra...@ce...) > > Sorry if this is not the good list for this message! Heh, it's the only one anymore AFAIK :(. There are lots of people=20 using linux-vr at Agenda, you might want to forward this message to=20 age...@li... , and you might get some people=20 there interested in hacking it up. The upstream for this particular cvs repository has always been=20 SGI..., but I have no idea where they are at in terms of their=20 development, but I think it ceased somewhere after where we did. =20 There was another effort to bring the MIPS kernel present that folks=20 were talking about on the main lkm mailing list.., so you might want=20 to search the archive there. I've forward ported pieces of the kernel in my own repository (IRDA=20 comes to mind), but I'm afraid of really hosing someone elses stuff=20 with my rather massive changes to IRDA, etc. I might poke a stick at your diff it when I get my home office back=20 in shape in two or three weeks. If you really want to work on=20 forward porting though, I would suggest contacting the folks that are=20 doing it for MIPS for another CPU (non-NEC if memory serves). They=20 asked for us to join, and have pulled down a lot of source from us=20 and were integrating it last I heard. I think it might be favourable=20 if they are going to be working on the kernel actively for us to=20 "close down" linux-vr and move all active work to the other active=20 MIPS branch, or upstream from them like we did with SGI. Thanks, Shane Nay. |

I've made a patch to update linux-vr to 2.4.8. Unfortunatly I try this under Casio E15 and cyace.exe is unable to boot this new release. It means that cyace.exe init memory, starts loading kernel and freaze. I suppose that boot sequence is broken but I don't know mips assembler, and I don't have emulator... If someone wants to get a look or can try kernel under emulator to get me on rails you can get patch at public ftp ftp.cev-sa.com linux-vr-2_4_0-to-2_4_8.diff.tar.gz or I can e-mail the patch (warning, up to 12 Mb) ask me. (fra...@ce...) Sorry if this is not the good list for this message! Regards, FL |

Hi, everyone : Here I met a problem , when my serial driver receive data in interrupt ,it will indicate there are overrun errors when received datas more than 16,and only received the first 15 characters , the last have been overwritten, but if less than 16, it have no problem , and my trigger level is 8 in FCR register . That is it always indicate LSR value =0x63,By the way , I used 24.576MHz clock not standard 1.8432MHz and baud rate is 9600Hz in my serial. maybe I have made a mistake when used 24.576MHZ clock, but I don't know what led to the error ? and can anyone help me how to resolve this problem ? Thanks in advance !!!!!! Mach 18/09only receive the first 16 |
