Only your partition was resized, not the filesystem because your disk is defected (damaged, has hardware faults, unusable media errors on the disk surface) and ntfsresize protected you to lose your data. Using ntfsprogs and qtparted, I deleted the D partition and resized the C partition ot 80 gb (I first shrank the D partition to make sure it worked, then went back to do it again). I got an error that the drive has bad sectors, however it said the partition was 80gb. Windows still shows it as 40gb. I've booted into linux a couple times and qtparted says it's 80gb. Any idea how to fix? Thx in advance! Yes, that is the way I did to work around temporarily. Anyway I investigated the thing a bit further and first of all I have to apologise because previously I was using v1.9.4 (from Debian Sarge sources) on which there was that issue with malloc/realloc that you fixed in v1.11.0. Now I tried your latest release v1.11.1 and it worked for me. Yet there still are a few things which look unclear to me: there are a few tests, namely those for memcmp lstat and stat, which are skipped when cross-compilation is enabled and get their name included in LIBOBJS variable which is actually never used in the Makefiles anyway, so I wonder what the point is for that variable and related checks to exist. This build enviroment should be handling the cross-compilition issue. I find it odd that it does not work as it should. I must admit I never tried it myself. After running the configure script, A config.h file is genereted. You can edit it manually and declare that malloc/realloc exist. After all, in a cross build, the configure script is only guessing. Issues like that better be discussed on the dev mailing list. I've been trying to (without chroot environment), and the first immediate hassle is related to some standard libc functions (such as malloc and realloc) which are just assumed to be missing, which is not true of course. It is not stated as far as I know but I don't see why it needs to be.
Obviously images generated are not GPL. GPL is to do with software and
an image is not software, it is data. The GPL does not and even cannot
apply to data.

I have two ideas: your NTFS was inconsistent already before resizing. Ntfsresize refuses to resize in theses case however Mandriva falls back to destructive partitioning, though it must warn in theses cases (when I checked this, it indeed did so). The other possibility is that your Windows was hibernated. This is supported only since ntfsresize 1.10.0 and Mandriva currently uses only ntfsresize 1.9.4. Could you please copy-paste (or type exactly) the below commands into a command prompt (if it's Mandriva then install the ntfsprogs package first): ntfsresize -Pi /dev/hda1 > debug.txt ntfsresize -Pfi /dev/hda1 >> debug.txt ntfscat -f /dev/hda1 /hiberfil.sys | od | head >> debug.txt fdisk -lu >> debug.txt bzip2 debug.txt then put the debug.txt.bz2 file to somewhere for download or just send it to me to sz...@si...
