Came to my mind only just now. Rather than using the current docking system in jEdit, stuff like jdvi or multivent pdf viewer should be dock as a buffer. This means, it should be easily to switch between the views (or maybe perspective) just by clicking, without pressing alt-tab. (Much better with bufferTabs) For some screens which is big even, a split view would also be enough. Thought of it just now because when using jdvi, i forget about the sources, and sometimes when i look at the source files, i forget to continue checking my notes in jdvi. Joshua |

Okay, so I switched to JRE 1.5 Still, clicking pdf in lilytool, nothing. Run the PdfView, cool. it works, but after lots of text scrolling in the console eg. *********JARS:[file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/ant-optional.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/ant.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/AntFarm.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/AntHelper.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/Background.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/bcel.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/BufferTabs.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/CodeAid.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/CommonControls.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/commons-collections.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/commons-httpclient-2.0.1.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/commons-lang-2.0.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/commons-logging.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/Console.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/Docker.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/DotComplete.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/EBrowse.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/ErrorList.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/GfxView.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/HeadlinePlugin.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/Highlight.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/htmlparser.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/ImgrRdr130.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/InfoViewer.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/JakartaCommons.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/Jane.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/JarMaker.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/JavaInsight.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/JBrowse.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/JCompiler.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/JCounter.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/JDiffPlugin.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/JExplorer.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/jhall.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/JImporter.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/jode.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/jtextcheck-1.0-b5.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/junit.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/JUnitPlugin.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/JWizardComponent.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/kappalayout.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/LilyJHelp.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/LilyPondTool.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/log4j.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/PHPParser.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/ProjectViewer.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/ShortcutSaver.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/SideKick.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/TaskList.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/Templates.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/velocity-1.3.1-rc2.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/xalan.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/xercesImpl.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/xml-commons-resolver.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/XML.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/xmlParserAPIs.jar, file:/C:/Program Files/jEdit/jars/XSLT.jar] So using pdfview is slow now. Hello, we have multivalent working as our internal PDF viewer. However, we must patch jEdit and multivalent as well. I've sent my proposals for the developers of them, to apply these patches in the next release, but I've got no response yet. So we must apply the patches manually in the meantime: 1. jEdit patch: replace org/gjt/sp/jedit/JARClassLoader.class in jedit.jar with: http://lily4jedit.sf.net/JARClassLoader.class and http://lily4jedit.sf.net/JARClassLoader$1SingleElementEnumeration.class 2. multivalent patch: replace multivalent/Multivalent.class, multivalent/Multivalent$1.class, multivalent/Cache.class, multivalent/node/LeafShape.class in multivalent20040415.jar with: http://lily4jedit.sf.net/Multivalent.class http://lily4jedit.sf.net/Multivalent$1.class http://lily4jedit.sf.net/Cache.class http://lily4jedit.sf.net/LeafShape.class If that's ready, just click on LilyPond>Process/View>View output (PDF) Note that there is very preliminary support for PDF point-and-click (which is available in recent development versions of LilyPond), i.e. there is no filename handling. The next task is to copy functionality from JDVI to our PDFView class. Bert |

I don't know what TEXShop does, but it would be a very good idea, to let LilyPond work in the background, while I'm typing. However, this should be only made completely separated from the regular processing, because - most time while I'm typing I have a very inconsistent file - the situation is better when I save, so if there are no obvious failures, the background processing can start on a temporary file - this temporary file might be viewed Bert |

Well, I didn't try it. We should comment it out, while I find the place to set its location for the XML parser. Bert |

Just curious to know what are the possible situations / side effects of this. Having a background thread maybe at a lower prioity compiling at lilypond file when it is saved, minus the error messages. So lilypond would already started before user actually click on the lilypond command. Is this what TEXShop does? Joshua |

This means can use any shortcuts for quicklily keys even though its already binded to another action. Upon quicklily untoggle, bindings will return to the previous action. For now, configuration of bindings in done in the QuickLilyManager. Its apparentenly a programming error on my part. The actions binded to the shortcuts were not stored and reverted when quicklily is invoked. I'll try to solve it when I'm back home. Fine! I just wanted to suggest that numbers don't append, but change duration, and you've done before I would have said :-) There is one problem: if I turn quicklily on and turn of, somehow some assignment don't disappear. For example backspace and pg-up/down do not work. Bert |

We no longer need TeX for hyphenation. The JTextCheck package at http://sourceforge.net/projects/jtextcheck contains a java hyphenation engine that uses OpenOffice.org's hyphenation dictionaries. There was a bug in it, so the hyphenation engine is now embedded in lily4jedit, but there is still a need for one jar, jtextcheck-1.0-b5.jar But the other jars contained in the jtextcheck binary archive are not needed. Dictionaries directory are to be set in Plugin options, and they can be downloaded from http://lingucomponent.openoffice.org/hyph_dic.html Bert |

Looks good. Another suggestion: handle backspace specially: delete the last thing the user has typed, not just one character. This way the relative mode can be work more better as well. Bert |
