Trasnfering Files from NetMD to PC

I have been trawling the internet looking for a way to transfer music tracks from a MD to my PC. These tracks have been recorded on a stereo from a cassette tape. The only function NetMD has is Check In and Check Out but it doesn't let tracks Check In that weren't already on the PC.

This is a known limitation of NetMD and I think it is a fundamental limitation (which means: it will never work)
Since the windows applications can't do it, it's highly unlikely that a open source will ever support it either.
actually Minidisc Transfer Editor (http://www.esdl.co.uk/body/mdte/mdte.htm) does provide transfer MD to PC... but it is sold for about 5000 US$... so if anyone is inspired I'd be really interesting in getting an opensource equivalent.
If you read that page caerfully, you'll see that special hardware is required (# EDL MiniDisc data drive and SCSI interface (normally supplied))
I think it's still not possible to do uploads using a portable NetMD player.
