Exactly, and I do not think it proper to prevent those who have purchased a Sony equipment to carry on their PCs records, not music copyright, it is really incredible quin is to prevent a legal thing, in the world when all copying everything, when Sony to have created MD never could imagine that the memories flash eeprom and would arrive at these costs and these capabilities, not counting the MP3 format, which now have a usb pen from 1 or 2 giga recording is a normal thing by possess, so if the registry can move immediately on your entries instead with the MD still be prevented, is not a time restriction of this type

Your right looks like Sony has abandoned the Mini Disc market. I cannot find any new players. And the ones that i do find i am not interested in buying. I think it would be great if they gave us the needed documentation to make these things work. Heck i am even tempted to rip mine open to see what chipsets are in it. But the unit still does work, and i record using the optical input.
I really like the media, and think if Sony made it true mp3 player and not transcode to there ATRAC3 format it would be a killer product. But they just killed it with all there DRM schemas, and the fact that there software was very crummy.
I don't want to bad mouth them, but they need to get there lawyers out of the development of new portable hardware, and they would have a chance to regain the crown they once had.
How times have changed.
I'll keep in touch.

MiniDisc is officially abandoned now I think, so maybe Sony has no reason anymore to be so secretive about it.
