I had a go, trying to copy the trace in the src as closely as possible,
with parent handle as 0xFFFFFFF and storage field as the correct
(0x00010001) one with absolutely no change in behavior.

Then I read this thread and realized my source was a few days old,
slowly working through the revisions / changes it was definitely the
string packing bug that caused the problem.

My device is now able to recieve tracks fine.
